Tokyo Run From Saipan Aboard the Lynn
In a Saipan to Tokyo mission the B-29 Lynn carried crews including S/Sgt. George Wright from Tyler Texas and Lt. Jack Ehrenberg from Passaic New Jersey. The crew faced heavy flak and fighter opposition as Maj. Robert K. Morgan piloted Dauntless Dottie, with bombs dropped near Tokyo. Engineers who prepared the airfields on Saipan and Tinian aided the operation by repairing runways and clearing debris, while ground crews endured sniper and air raid risks.
