Glider Training and Its Big Lift for Army Air
Glider pilots undergo four weeks of pre glider school with 30 hours in air and 32 hours on ground. They train in night and instrument flying, formation maneuvers, loops, and stalls. They face storms as the main danger and use jeeps or planes to tow the gliders to altitude. The Army staffs 18 primary glider schools, with pay scales from 75 to 225 dollars monthly plus gear.
