Letters on mustering-out pay and GI life from YANK readers
Soldiers abroad argue for fair mustering-out pay and better postwar support with proposals for automatic daily pay, foreign service credits, and dependents' allowances. Readers from New Guinea Canton Island Greenland Fiji Islands and Brazil share experiences, critique Hollywood depictions, and salute heroism of Sgt John A Bushemi while urging better civilian reintegration and recognition.

Brush-Off Club and Women’s Auxiliary Movement
The letter recounts the Brush-Off Club formed in Algiers by jilted Army officers and the expansion of women’s auxiliary chapters across the United States. It notes public interest sparked by Hal Boyle and the witty Rogues Gallery concept, plus a soldier’s ironic classification card noting his “main occupation” as a baseball player and his method of delivering pitches.
