W H Walker formerly Franklin county deputy sheriff was acquitted of murder by Justice Thomas McCarty in Pasco after a two day preliminary hearing. Burns to Death Agnes Dion in Nightly Fire Incident
Agnes Dion, an Indian woman, died at 8 o clock Tuesday morning from a burning accident about midnight. She lived two miles south of Ellensburg. While carousing with sister and brother in law she returned home, slept, and while smoking a pipe her clothes ignited. She suffered fatal burns. her husband Charles Idion had died on railroad tracks about a year earlier.

Coal Shortage Strikes Northwestern Improvement Co
Monday the Northwestern Improvement company ran out of coal and took about twenty two orders. No coal could be secured all day though a small lot arrived Tuesday used to fill Monday orders. Tuesday’s needy customers were left without. This is the first shortage since a recent coal raid though the firm had plenty a week ago and expects more coal today.
