A memorial fountain honoring Yakima volunteers who died in the Philippines will be unveiled Friday July 4 at Yakima avenue and Third street. The statue of Col Weisenberger will be dedicated after a Miles Cannon address with Rev H M Bartlett speaking. Surviving members of Company EF will attend. Separately Miss Aimee Middleton Porter and Mr Henry were married at Calvary Episcopal Roslyn on June 25 1902.
A thief entered the home of J H Fraser last evening and took about three dollars from his trousers. A diamond ring and a ten dollar gold piece on a bureau were left by a would be thief. A similar attempt was made to enter Attorney Englehart's house on Fourth street. No arrests have been made.
Local mining men celebrate reports from the Elizabeth mine in Gold Hill county. Assay samples sent to Seattle show high grade gold, prompting a stock surge from 25 cents to 1 dollar per share. The Seven-claim property extends 4 500 feet with a 2 000 foot tunnel. 96 000 000 tons of high grade ore are claimed in sight. R D Fife leads the company with 400 000 shares.
A jury in the Washington Irrigation Co vs S H Bedell case awarded Bedell 268.62 for 160 acres affected by Sunnyside canal expansion. Judge Rudkin presided. trial began last Saturday with evidence heard before a 12 member panel. The verdict settles a dispute over two acres of soil displaced on Bedell's Sunnyside farm.
