Marshal Boyle arrested J Stewart Fife here after a deputy learned he was wanted in St. Joseph Missouri for the December 24 1900 murder of Frank W Richardson a Savannah banker. Fife 23 was to board the Seattle train when seized and turned over to local authorities for delivery to Missouri officials.

The Odd Fellows awarded W T Stewart a 14000 contract for a brick two story building at Yakima avenue and Third street. The 130 by 50 foot front will house Coffin Bros department store on the first floor and lodge rooms on the second. Completion is set for July 1 with a large hall dining room and necessary rooms.
