Longmire decision settles river water rights
The state supreme court rules in Longmire v Smith and others that David Longmire is entitled to undiminished flow of the Wenus River to his intake for irrigation, potentially drying upper ranches. The ruling prompts calls for reservoirs and a Selah Valley Canal extension to supply upper lands. Farmers in the Moxee district seek a bridge across Yakima River to connect to the city, offering to fund half the cost.

Prosser Election Returns: Mayors and Council Seats Decided
At the Prosser municipal election last Tuesday only 33 votes were cast. I. W. R. Taylor was elected mayor and C. A. Jensen treasurer with no opposition. Council results: E. Kemp 29, A. Smith 26, W. D. Faville 21 won. J. W. White 19. Holdovers: W. H. Brownlow and A. G. McNeil.
