Robert H. Morgan sues to compel performance of a 1899 gift to his son Robert S. Morgan and Minerva M. Morgan. The plaintiff, who has held the land since 1899, claims 20 acres and 10 shares of Yakima Valley Canal stock, with mortgage costs of 200 dollars, were given on condition of paying pro rata mortgage. He says he fulfilled terms and spent money improving the land. The defendants deny any contract was made.

Northern Pacific Ditch Lands Sale Near Kennewick
At Kennewick last Tuesday the Northern Pacific conducted the second sale of lands from the Kennewick ditch disposing of most remaining acreage. Seventy five tracts totaling 1500 acres sold from 25 to 60 dollars per acre with a 10 acre minimum. Six year payment term offered and bona fide residents receive refunds to deter non settlers. Water may reach some land this year though irrigation likely by 1903.

Boy Hurt While Helping Dad At Selah Ranch Hayload
Ellis Bounds, son of Mr and Mrs Pleas Bounds, was badly bruised when a hay load weighing 1200 to 1500 pounds shifted and fell at a Selah ranch last Saturday. He had briefly stepped under the derrick lifted load to move it into the barn loft.

Man arraigned for watch theft at Toppenish link
A Toppenish man George Morris was arraigned before Justice Taggard on stealing a watch from George Hanson. They arrived in town and Hanson slept on Front street bench while Morris, with a woman, allegedly obtained the watch. Morris pleaded not guilty, said he was drunk, was fined ninety nine dollars plus costs and jailed for nonpayment.
