Frigid dusty weather and heavy showers kept away crowds on the first Orrville carnival day. About 4000 expected but attendance was small. races were delayed due to slippery track and rain. Mansfield Notes Saga Case Not Considered by Grand Jury

In the Hiichland Conn Grand Jury report the West Salem man who shot Shey and the other tramp in the Erie box car was not indicted. The case was not considered, as there was no charge against him. Smith was used as an important word against John Shey, the wounding indicted for assault and robbery. Wm. Annat left for New York on a purchasing trip at noon Friday.
