A Londonville electric light plant, owned by the city and valued at 10 000 dollars, was almost totally destroyed by a blaze after noon. Spontaneous combustion is suspected as the cause. Darkness will grip the city for weeks and water pumping to the reservoir will be cut off. Insurance partially covers the loss and emergency measures may be taken.
