J. B. Stanley of Cleveland visited the city Tuesday to obtain consents and right of way for the Massillon Wooster and Mansfield electric line. He said the company will buy bonds once all rights of way are secured, with focus on High and Larwill streets.

Bold Burglaries Attempted at Country Home Sunday Night

A burglary attempt occurred Sunday night at a country home about miles northwest of Wooter. An unknown intruder, believed to know the family, slept on the east side during the disturbance. Mrs Moynery, resting with her young daughter who had a broken arm, woke to a dog’s bark and a shot fired, but no one was found. The dog fled in fear and was hard to locate until morning. Mrs Mowery, in poor health, is nearly prostrated by the event, recalling a past burglary attempt that awakened the house and saved a loss.

The funeral for Frank Metz of Etna Pa was held Monday afternoon at his mother Suzan Metz’s home where he was born sixty four years ago. Metz, a prominent Etna resident in the drug trade, long a Democratic leader and former postmaster, had served as deputy in charge of the Kitna sub station and borough treasurer. Wellington man suspects Eddy missing in Milwaukee case

N B Everson of Wellington, who went to Milwaukee with Capt. Eddy, visited on Sunday and offered his opinion that Ralph W. Eddy was not drowned or murdered. He suggests possible kidnapping by New York criminals’ allies but leans toward believing the missing man became demented from heat and fever and is wandering.

Coroner Cannot Determine Firing in Loudonville Shooting

Coroner Ash filed his findings in the Stern Porter shooting case in Loudonville stating he cannot identify who fired the shots that killed a Des Moines man and his wife’s aunt Miss Porter. Station Warns Farmers Against Adams Wheat Fraud

The experiment station issued a bulletin Tuesday warning farmers not to buy seed wheat from Abraham Adams whose wheat was advertised as yielding 92334 bushels per acre. It states a figure of 1834.8 bushels per acre is the real yield and calls the Adams Wheat a fraud. under Ohio conditions the seed would be worthless.

Mrs Purdy Dead in Wooster After Long Illness

Elizabeth Furly Purdy, 74, wife of B F Purdy of East Sonoth street Wooster, died Tuesday afternoon after months of illness. Born in Chester township Wayne County, she lived all her life there and in Wooster. Survived by her husband and daughter Mrs Ella Farner of Chicago, who cared for her for nearly a year. She was the youngest sister of Maria Hickornell and Samuel Funk among others.
