Revenue Stamp Reform and Compliance Update
The Treasury Department begins issuing stamps last Monday with a 1 January 1963 deadline for document stamping. Despite the law, many instruments not yet stamped remain valid but carry penalties after stamps become available. A new section removes legal disability for pre January 1963 papers once duly stamped or adhesive stamps paid. courts must see a five dollar payment to the U.S. use, before admitting such papers as evidence.

Stamps Required on Legal Documents After October Deadline

Wayne county draft heads to Wooster for Mansfield camps
The Wayne county draft yesterday selected about 370 men for five days to report to Wooster and then to Camp Mansfield. Four townships were exempt while congress Clinton Salt Check and Wooster are named in the notice. The process used a drawing from a bar by Dr Weaver, a blind man, and is described as fair and lawful with soldiers expected to join ranks soon.
