Charles A. Smith, who lived near Dopvere, Iowa, disappeared after telling his wife he would go to Dubuane on business. He was found in Rockford with a wife named Sarah Olson and brought back on bigamy charges. He waived examination and was sent to jail. In Zanesville Ohio November 11 Mayor Bell reports a letter from R H Mundey of Charlottesville West Virginia about heirs of Thomberts or his widow. Thomberts died in Winchester Virginia circa 1838 leaving a widow and five children. They moved to Zanesville in 1841. Between 1872 and 1875 Mrs Roberta served as postmistress in a town in Ohio. The case could yield a large fortune for the widow and children if located.
Promoter John Johnston states John L. Sullivan will fight Francis Patrick Slavin in America for the world heavyweight crown. A $2,600 deposit is made in the New York Herald to secure the match, set for late September or early October 1892, with conditions to gain the wealthiest purse if Slavin raises funds.

Harrisburg Nov. 13 voters in all counties reported to the state department. Gregg Republican auditor general led with a 58 152 plurality Morrison Republican state treasurer trailed by 54 877. The highest total was 790 276 for state treasurer. About 200 000 voters did not cast ballots on the constitutional convention question.
