The Board of Elections completed tabulation of last Tuesday’s vote for Nash and McLean counties. Governor Geo Nash led with 3899 votes, McLean’s candidate Dillon tied, while McLean’s slate won majorities in several county posts including Probate Judge, Treasurer, Auditor, and Infirmary director.
A Wednesday morning blaze in Wilmot destroyed six buildings on Main Street including the post office, a furniture store, a hardware_store, and residences. The fire, fed by dry wood and lacking a local water supply, burned for about four hours, with the town's volunteers battling from buckets and pumps. Donald Fisher, 14, son of E. D. Fisher the harpersman, suffered a severe accident Tuesday evening at the family residence on Sprade street. While stooping to work with chemicals in his workshop an explosion caused his right arm to strike the bench, breaking the wrist in two places. Dr. J. H. Stoll attended him.
Prominent people from Columbia and Cleveland visited the Sommerdale Oil and Gas Co yesterday to witness 11 wells tested. The 40 wells owned by the parties present showed strong production, indicating the operator’s holdings are productive.

Daily notes councilman George Fisher plans to fit his marble works with electric light. He says there is enough work to keep his men busy night and day until next spring. At present the workers are idle waiting for stone. Rash work will begin at the county jail on Monday. Structural iron, previously missing, arrived this morning. Architect J. H. Webster hopes to roof the structure by Christmas if feasible.

James Q Snyder narrowly escaped injury at the Wooster Reserving Co when an elevator moved while a truck of goods stood between the doors. Snyder was squeezed about the right hip and knees but no bones were broken, after being treated by Dr. H N Warren at his city home. James Wilson, the company president, stopped the car when he heard the call.
TIME EXTENDED F W Boyer general manager W and Gilbert superintendent shipping and J B Coley caterman of the Wadsworth Salt Factory visited the Clapper Bag Factory in Wooster Saturday evening. They approved extending the contract from five to fifteen years for salt bag production, with Clapper still free to make bags for flour mills and other firms. He adds eight new bag sewing machines and a double girder press for exclusive use in bag manufacturing.
