Church contracts with Mansfield architect for new edifice

At a Church of Christ meeting on Monday evening a contract was signed with architect Harlan Jones of Mansfield for the plans and specifications of a new 820000 dollar building to be erected this summer. The aim is to start work as soon as possible, ideally before July.

Wooster approves $40,000 bond for new elementary school

In a special Wooster election held Monday, residents approved a $40,000 bond to erect a row school house. The board of education will begin planning now and invite bids this summer, with work to start promptly. Overall turnout was light, about a quarter of eligible voters, and totals show 203 for and 181 against, 474 total with a 112 majority in favor.

Veteran John Sparr dies in Plain township at 606 years old

John Sparr a long veteran of the 8th Union Cavalry died Monday night at his home in Plain township at 11 p.m. after six months of poor health. He is survived by Mrs Sparr and two children Ira Sparr and Bernice Sparr. Funeral services will be held at the Plain Lutheran church at 102 m. Thursday with interment in Plain township cemetery.

Seville Farmer Suffering Blood Poison Seeks Sanatorium Aid

F. L. Kline, a wealthy farmer living near Seville, came to Kinney and Knestrick sanatorium on Monday evening for treatment. He is suffering from blood poisoning caused by a burn to the index finger of his right hand, with fear the finger may be amputated.

Eagleson to Speak at Mt Eaton Commencement

Freeman T. Eagleson speaker of the Ohio house will visit Wooster Friday en route to Mt Eaton where he will address the commencement. Man Was Done Up on Pennsylvania Freight House Platform

Unconscious man found with facial bleeding at 10 30 PM Saturday on the Pennsylvania freight house platform near Orrville Crescent. He suffered a deep scalp wound, chipped teeth, and a lip cut. Two suspected accomplices, one ill from blows, appeared at the scene before the eastbound train. Earlier, John Raff was attacked near his residence as three men confronted him and struck him before dispersing.
