Mrs Ellen Applebaugh former department president and her assistants Miss Stella McClarran and Mrs Jennie Cameron were honored on return from the state convention of the Women’s Relief Corps in Marietta. The department reported nearly 2800 dollars in treasury and membership rising from 10900 to 11150 under Applebaugh’s administration. Presets included $50 in gold and various silverware and bouquets. Miss Margaret Applebaugh served as official stenographer. A special train from Orrville to Columbus via C A & C on Sunday May 24 leaves Applecreek at 7 57 am central time.

Accusations Referred to Bureaus In Ex Post Facto Inquiry
Washington May 19 Letters seeking information on charges made by former Cashier Tulloch have been sent by Postmaster General Payne to the comptroller of the Treasury auditor of the post office department and the department on class. Payne says charges against the auditor and comptroller are the most serious and irregularities may have occurred without illegality. He stresses difference between irregularities and unlawful acts and notes a large sum once disallowed was later allowed. Officials say they will investigate any act reflecting on the department.
