Dr Henry M. Scudder, son of a former Plymouth Church pastor, is under arrest in Cuicano charged with killing Mrs F Denton wife of The Spirit of The Turf proprietor to gain a $100 000 fortune. Witnesses allege head injuries and a last seen with Scudder, while a dying confession hidden by fear points to foul play.
A large New Orleans crowd packed the Olympic Club house as Bob Fitzsimmons and Jim Maher faced off in a highly anticipated prize fight. Elmer Fouls shot and killed Michael Niland aboard a freight locomotive near Rocgwoon Pennsylvania on March 3. Niland, a fireman, ordered flagman Fos tile from the cab after a dispute over aiding with coal. Fos tile drew a revolver and fired, the bullet striking Niland in the heart. Fos tile was taken to hospital in Pittshure while Niland died at Numerset.
In Frrerort, Pa on March 8 11 year old Charlew Kepplaxed son of Peter Kepplaxed hanged himself in his father's barn after being reproved for misbehavior. The Kepplaxed family of thirteen lives near the junction of the Butles and Winteld branch railroads. This marks the first death in the family.
The four defendants indicted for Siebolt's murder last September begin their trial. A special jury draw and a sixty day venue were ordered. Bar ny Mier, previously at large, is rumored to surrender and face trial with the others.
The New York based Great Twelve Clubb Combine released a revised schedule for the season to accommodate a larger roster.
