New York dispatch reports Rev. Dr. John R. Paxton, retired pastor of the West Presbyterian Church, seriously injured at his East Hampton summer home when a fall against closet hooks tore his eyelid and threatened sight. Dr. Everett Herrick treated him. prognosis warned of possible vision loss.

In a Saturday hearing of the Fillepp Studsin Probate Court the arrest timing tied to debts owed to Mrs Mary Angelo and her sister. The scheme, allegedly arranged by Angelo’s son Louis Angelo, involved paying passage from Italy to Wooster for a groom-to-be. They were said to owe Angelo 30 dollars for services as a matchmaker, which he would not release until payment was produced, after which the arrest occurred.
The Progressive Farmers Association gathered at J H Stitt’s home south of Wooster on May 28. Comrades from several towns attended as committees discussed invitations to the 8th Regiment O N G, dining arrangements, and music. no formal action was taken. The group adjourned to meet again on Thursday at 2 pm.
