The Board of Public Service debated closing contracts for Beall avenue widening and sidewalk work after Long & Greist bid were questioned for item separation. Howard Herring and attorney E S Wertz urged challenges citing legal requirements, while Long & Greist sought time to consult. The board considered intra contract options and noted potential re advertising if bids collapse.

DuVane Ginter aged six the son of Frank Ginter of Congress was killed on Mrs M J Whitmores farm on a Saturday. He rode on a heavily loaded wagon without his father’s knowledge and was crushed under the wheels dying within minutes. Community sympathy runs deep for the bereaved parents. The funeral was held Monday at the Methodist church with Julio Wohlfords and Lyman Jones of Westnity, Ohio among the attendees.
A group of six boys aged eleven to fifteen faced charges for stealing tobacco from a car at the depot. Mayor Hubbell heard the case after detective involvement from the Wheeling and Erie railways. The youths admitted guilt and received a stern warning with repayment of tobacco and costs. If rerouted before him again, they face harsher consequences. The railway company seeks further arrests to recover losses.

J J Staoaffer's election to superintendent at Brink Haven at seventy dollars and half foreign tuition prompts his move from Wooster. University campus events include student performances Wednesday afternoon and evening with tickets 40 cents, 52 cents, and one dollar. A special nature course at the Lowmer School features Col Isaac W Brown and daily woodland talks by him, with bird excursions and an illustrated lecture by Dr Leander S Keyster on Our Native Birds.
The first Sunday Sunset Service at City Park drew an unusually large crowd. Rev W A Littell of the Presbyterian church preached on The Building of the Temple, likening it to preparing the Christian life for eternity. Music was led by Rev Herbert Brodt and the service emphasized readiness for the final call.
George Gracer of Cushman street told Mayor Van Nest on Monday evening that Emanuel Dilgara used indecent language and made improper proposals to Gracer’s thirteen year old daughter Mary Graser at the Gracer home where he went to fetch laundry.

The Columbus Dispatch reviews Miller Colwell a university student and supervisor of Columbus parks for young ladies. Colwell argues that playgrounds are essential in summer as schools are in winter, aiming to provide healthy, continuous outdoor time for children from congested districts to improve health and spirit.
Richard A. Pearce, owner of a residence, sued the road superintendent for $25, claiming failure to restore a ditch to its original level after an in front of his barn. A jury ruled the superintendent must pay court costs and the $25 penalty.

Supt 8 K Mardis of Tearonto addressed chapel on Ohio School laws and federation progress.
Annual reunion of the 120th V I scheduled at Wooster on August 7 and 20. Dates fixed by Henry W Peters, president, and secretary Nebmetz. Invitations are being sent to all regiment members this week.
