Death of Ex President Tyler at Richmond Virginia
Ex President John Tyler died in Richmond Virginia on Friday night last. He was born March 29 1790 in Charles County Virginia and at nineteen was admitted to the bar. He held multiple offices including Virginia Legislator Congressman Governor and U.S. Senator. He became Vice President in 1840 and President after Harrison's death in 1841. He opposed the bank and later supported Virginia’s Peace Congress and Rebel Congress efforts. He died aged seventy one leaving two wives and several children including Robert Tyler and John Tyler Jr.
