Fierce Engounter Between the Fleets at Panama Harbor

In Panama on January 21 a fierce naval battle left two government ships and three insurgent vessels sunk. The revolutionary fleet included Padilla Darlen and Galtan, while government ships Lautaro Chicuto and Boyaca were involved. General Alban was killed when Lautaro burned and sank. The clash halted a landing as government vessels approached and the rebel fleet withdrew.
