Frederick Oswald faces trial after being indicted for selling liquor to a habitual drinker. The case, heard previously in Orrville mayor's court, raised jeopardy questions. evidence was presented and the judge ruled Oswald had not been in jeopardy, now directing trial on the indictment.
The Everett Club voted to remain in the current building for another year and reestablish the ladies night tradition on the last Thursday each month. Officers elected were President L K Critchfield Sr, Vice President J H Todd, Secretary Treasurer J Miner, and Spoora Obes J B Taylor with Ji A Hoffstott as an officer nominee. A furnace will be installed to fix the faulty heating.
A report of burglars tools in stores proved false after Marshal Ellse investigated. A well dressed man left two satchels at Mrs Robertson’s store and later retrieved them. they contained surgical instruments. The stranger, a doctor, was visiting a relative and left for the country without reclaiming the satchels.
Given Post No 143 G A R and Woman's Relief Corps No 19 held a joint installation with Deputy R J Smith presiding. New officers were installed amid praise for mothers and wives, memorial donations, a paid piano, and surprise refreshments. Edith Sweeney and Nellie Frost among honored members, Captain Kauke added decorative globes.

The Ashland Times reports the death of David E. Cunningham his wife and infant within days in Madison Switch near Mansfield. Previously healthy he caught a chill while chasing runaway horses leading to his death at age 80. The baby died before the funeral and the mother and mother in law are critically ill.
Numerous executors administrators and guardians including Swart McKean Irvin Eshelman Shisler and Larwill file final distributive and in kind accounts with hearings set for February 1. Samuel Krenneman and Daniel Shisler involved in final accounts. Real estate sales noted: Nancy Q Larwill property sold on South Market Street for 3620 and J E Barrett farm of 78 acres sold for 3710 to local buyers.

McCance of Fredericksburg sues the Cleveland, Akron & Columbus Railway Co for 320,000 damages alleging negligent handling and improper amputation of his right hand after an on the job incident on August 12, 1890. He claims improper examination and careless surgery by Dr Ebright led to unnecessary amputation and ongoing pain, leaving him crippled and unable to work.
