Wooster residents read in the Cleveland Leader a claim that the Western Seamen's Aid Society is a fraud. The article asserts money raised by Hiram Sears seldom reaches seamen families and that charity seekers were refused by leaders of the organization.
William Caskey of Wayne township succeeds Armstrong Brown as sheriff of Wayne County. He has moved his family into the residence and assumed duties while Brown relocates to his farm. Caskey’s $10,000 bond is signed by multiple sureties and deputies John Geiselman and Frank Ault are named. Caskey vows to perform duties strictly and restricts jail visitors to himself or a deputy.
The Presbyterian Suburb church drew youth groups including Brotherhood of Saint Andrew Gather League Epworth League and Baptist Young People federation. Dr H D Allen gave the invocation. Rev Charles Johnson spoke on Equipment, followed by Rev Cromer on Personal Work. Dr Inferahey offered a closing address in a lively vein. The service ended in time for worship.
Mrs Frances Schmuck aged 68 wife of Resin A Suebmack formerly of near Wooster suicided Sunday afternoon at her Osnaborg home by drowning herself in the cistern after months of illness. Funeral set for Wednesday.
Isaac B. Myers, prominent Wooster resident and businessman, died suddenly between 4 and 5 pm Saturday, likely from heart disease. Born October 22, 1880 in Bucks County, Pa., he lived in the county over 50 years and was married to Cecelia Funk on November 4, 1852. He leaves two living children, W. C. Myers and Alfis Lora F. Myers. Myers had a long career in groceries, drugs, and insurance, partnering at Harris and later running a South Market Street shop and an insurance firm with his son, generating a large patronage. He served in the 169th O. V. I. during the Civil War, belonged to G. A. R. posts, and was active in Wooster civic life, churches, and veterans groups. The funeral Tuesday at his North Bever Street residence drew many veterans and friends, with services by Rev. Frank Heilman and Rev. H. D. Allen. Honorary pallbearers included Albert Suyser, James Taggart, and George Miller, among others.

They accuse Commissioner Harrison of implying fault by the defense and claim repeated court delays by the state despite weak evidence. John Thompson sold his farm of eight acres in Chester townablyp on Monday through his agent G W Spangler. The transaction confirms a local land deal transferring ownership to a new buyer, with no further details provided on price or buyer.

Caskey delivered chickens from the farm and the prisoners had dinner with apples and nicknacks. They expressed good will in a Republic ana letter praising Caskey and hoping for continued good conduct.
In Bucyrus a Crawford county jury found the defendant guilty after about 80 minutes deliberation. The accused, named in court records as from King township, was convicted under the charge of horse stealing. The verdict was announced to the court and the defendant’s name appeared in the docket as part of the E. and Harvey party.
