A dance at Esrene’s hall on New Year’s Eve was well attended, oysters served by Mr and Mrs A Lucas, and A C Mathei’s New Year dinner featured notable winnings. Clark Berch and Gracie Eberly wed after a trip to Trumpbul county Ohio. Missionaries attended New Year’s ball at Creston and neighbors shared well wishes. Numerous social visits and serenades followed the wedding and recovery from illness.
Despite mud and rain, locals held a large evening gathering with Irene and other officials present. Women brought baskets of food for a kingly supper feeding about forty hungry attendees. A follow up meal is planned and notices will be issued to invite absentees, as a young couple hosted a lively social at the event.
