PainpsvitLi Feb 26 The health of Peter Michel who was sentenced to life in the penitentiary for the killing of David Hurren of Willoughby is much better. Taken to Columbus in January Michel was expected to serve only a few months. Sheriff St John saw Michel Sunday. He is content though he does not get his usual whisky ration. He says no work and no rent to pay is all right.
Coroner Ed ward Leberman to investigate the death of Charles Durant, 24, a Spanish-American War veteran from Barberton. Durant, who recently joined the Christian Science sect, died after ten days at John Teal’s residence amid family pleas for medical care. Durant’s father and mother urged cooperation in the inquiry.
Officials press condemnation suit against Pittsburgh and Western railroad companies to appropriate thirty acres east of Garard between Netley and Porot for roadbed use. Suit seeks land along the Mahoning River for an abandoned line’s corridor.
