Move to Lexington Ky and Camp Near Rebels
In December 1861 the 16th Regiment left Camp Dennison for Cincinnati, rode to Lexington Ky, and camped near the city. The march through Covington and Lexington included a warm reception from locals and a view of Breckinridge and Henry Clay landmarks as they prepared to confront Confederate forces.
