A muddled report from Fox Lake Wisconsin on December 22 cites Mrs William Hart and her companion as alive and at Fred Weeds home near Lake Mitty. Weed says Hart’s husband Hurd is jailed in Water Town and may have authored an anonymous note claiming the murder, while Weed had hired him as a housekeeper.
