The Travellers Club met on December 15 with Mrs Jacob Frick. A varied program featured Traditional Music of the Spanish Pyrenees read by Mrs Claude Davis and performances by Miss Anna Pope. Mrs N Warren presented a paper on Cancioneros and Spanish lyric poetry with notes by Mrs Jacob Frick. A Seville description by Mrs Isaac Johnson and recitations by Mrs Bennett and Mrs Claude Davis followed. Current events included Li Hung Changs selection of two Chinese women delegates to a London congress and a resume of arbitration progress on the Venezuelan question. After social hour, members and guests departed pleased with the evening.
Mercer county sheriff Georges Heffron escorted Fred Wagner to Mercer County for trial on burglary charges after Wagner and accomplices fired at Robert Springer the Orrville hotel porter. Wagner was indicted for shooting with intent to kill but Springer could not be found. Prosecutor Fonck notified the indictment in Wooster. Accomplices in the Rockford store burglary have been convicted and sent to the penitentiary.
