In Lehighton Carbon county a scaffold collapse at an icehouse construction over the Lehigh river killed Thomas Ames 35 and Oscar Heilman 20 and seriously injured several others. Aaron Dreisbach Nathan Heilman Henry Ultz Leviahn and Benjamin Ruch were seriously injured with many others hurt and the accident touched the thrifty town formerly Gnaddenhutten.
