Death of Jefferson Davis Ex Confederate Leader in New Orleans
Jefferson Davis ex president of the Confederate States died in New Orleans at 12 45 AM age 81 after two weeks of illness. Mrs Davis and family were with him his death followed a period of gradual decline as doctors attended and the city tolled in mourning. Davis born Kentucky 1808 served in Congress and Senate before leading the Confederacy from 1861 to 1865. He was captured after Richmond fell and later released before retiring in Beauvoir Mississippi.
