Aug 22. Eight miles south of Jacksons a farmer Joe Hardin killed his nephew J L Edwards during an argument over money. Edwards struck Hardin with iron then Hardin stabbed him to the heart. Hardin was arrested.

In Nicollet Point Minn on August 24 Mrs. John D Miller shot and killed her estranged husband after his relationship with a young woman named Schee. She followed them with a revolver and fired twice at Schee, injuring her shoulder. both women were arrested.

McSparren of Lancaster, president of the Mt Gretna farmers encampment, is noted as a prominent candidate for auditor general. He has been a farmer and eight years as overseer of the Patrons of Husbandry in the state.
