John Winter of Bloomington, working in Lorain, became very sick on the way home and was carried to Landis & Schmucks' ambulance. He had been ill for several days and it is believed heat exhaustion caused the collapse as the noon temperature reached nine degrees hotter than yesterday in the shade.

A Thursday meeting in the Mayor’s office drew attention to funding an electric railway to Cleveland. Col. L N Cox of New York and F M McMillen of Cleveland spoke for Eastern capitalists backing four fifths of the necessary capital. The Wooster segment would cost about 128000, with a 900 foot stretch. Proponents argued the line would boost trade, cut freight and passenger costs, and benefit farmers and merchants, promising a 7 percent initial return and local stock issuance. New Yorkers plan further talks with Col. Cox as Wooster considers its role in the project.
A group led by Alginz Gunningham proposes to buy increased railway capital stock. Shares priced at par fifty dollars, payments split 50 cash, 25 by note, 25 by future note and cash installments. Bank to hold funds as trustee and deliver certificates once stock is issued. If railway not begun within six months, deposits are returned. A five member committee including A Cunningham and Prof J AC Boyd will canvass Wooster for funds.
Thieves entered Geo W s residence last evening while family visited a neighbor and stole about 340 dollars from Mrs Garn s purse, Mr G s containing roughly 8 to 10 dollars, and a daughter s small plush purse about 4 dollars. No clue found, intruders believed to know the premises. a gold watch remained undisturbed. Also noted is strong Christian opposition to a church event planned for next week with no local church or Sunday school efforts planned.
