The Republic in Wooster notes a Cleveland man Albert Joyet aims to start an automobile supplies factory here. Captain R J Eddy seeks interest and Mayor Van Neat suggested a meeting with the board of trade to discuss propositions. Joyet toured Wooster Monday and favored locating nearby, with talks of repurposing Unger Brush land if needed to attract the factory and reuse subscribed funds to secure land.
Orrville will host a longer Chautauqua next year after a successful first event. Managers plan a ten day or two week program with afternoon and evening shows. Large Sunday crowds surpassed all prior attendance, with strong Wooster representation and high quality talent. Chippewa Lake Chautauqua also reports ongoing, well attended sessions and record Sunday turnout.
Superintendent James Fisher stated no water service was shut off for non payment of rents as residents quickly paid what they owed. He noted a few absentees but they would settle debts upon returning home.

An Italian named Jim employed on the construction train on the Baltimore Ohio line at Lodi fell at work on Sunday striking his head on a bucket of a steam shovel. He was taken to Wooster hospital Sunday evening where surgeons raised skull bones from the brain. He is resting and believed to recover.
Rev. Dr. Hershey of Wooster preached at the Presbyterian church in Applecreek on Sunday evening on Cast Thy Burdens on the Lord. Attendance rose through summer. thirteen joined the church. In ten days the pastor raised 8700 pounds for interior repairs to renew the church during his vacation. Metzler and Bons of Wooster hold the decorating contract. Rev. D H Johnston, the pastor, leaves early next week for vacation in Boston.
Robt Kay Smith aged nine, son of a widow in Shreve, died suddenly Sunday evening after months of kidney disease. An operation was planned for Monday but his condition worsened after a severe vomiting spell. The report notes the illness resisted treatment.
Six people died and eighteen were wounded when passenger train No. 76 collided with a freight on the Buffalo and Allegheny division of the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pittsburg on August 6. rescue teams worked at the scene as officials investigated the cause.
The Schann family on West North Street mourns the loss of their first-born son, George, who died after a brief illness from kidney and liver diseases leading to uremic poisoning. He was a bright, well-developed youth, excelling in school, and his funeral was held Tuesday afternoon with the German Evangelical church pastor Herbert Brodt officiating and interment in Wooeter cemetery.
The Wertz bill was challenged as unconstitutional but Wertz says it was never ruled on by the courts. He cites an attorney general office source noting the department considered it constitutional. The law would allow up to 10 percent of state laborers to be used on penitentiary contracts, aiming to reform the prison and move it to the country to improve conditions and reduce disease.

Col Edward Volkatpban abandoned a Bucyrus parade plan for the Eighth Regiment en route to Camp Perry. Eight companies will transfer at Bucyrus, with Akron and Wadaworth units via Cleveland, and the parade idea is dropped due to transport limits. Captain Joseph Dy Wise of Bucyrus resigns and will not join the march.
Official orders issued Saturday place Orrville as division point between Cleveland and Columbus on the C A and C railroad. The change, decided earlier but unannounced until now, shifts crews who will depart from Orrville to Cleveland and Columbus and mostly return on other trains.
The Gentry Famous Pony show extends an invitation to WE. Jarvis, superintendent of the children's home, to bring all the girls of the home to the Tuesday afternoon performance on August 13. Trustees are hoped to accept and allow the unfortunates to attend.
Dr A C Knestrick of Creston, a renowned physician surgeon in the county, will open an office in Wooster. He has rented the old Kauke homestead just north of the county building and will use it as his office and family residence.
Dayton August 6 Abe Cohen who was shot while with Anna Markowicz who was choked to death by certain alias assistant died today in a hospital there.

Dalton August 6 The funeral of Wm C Resseler manager of M F McDowell hardware store who died from burns in last week’s powder explosion was held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. It drew over a thousand mourners and was led by Rev J V Findlay and Rev W H Hubbell with J U A M conducting the grave service. Resseler, 25, married fourteen months, leaves a wife and infant son. He had just erected a new warehouse and recently recovered from typhoid. M F McDowell, store owner, arrived home from Tennessee.
The two year old son of Thomas Miller and wife of East South street died Sunday from Hopping cough and bowel trouble. Funeral was Monday afternoon. Mrs Joseph Miller wife of Dr Joseph Miller Seville died Saturday. Mrs John Seneaphe Orrville died at 4 am Saturday after a lingering illness aged 73 years 4 days. Born in Canton Berne Switzerland she came to this country many years ago. Funeral was Monday.
