Pioneer resident and former Wooster merchant John McClellan died near 90 after a cerebral hemorrhage. Born in Beaver County Pennsylvania in June 1800s, he helped bring Wooster University to prominence, served as its first treasurer, and remained a devoted church and Republican figure. He left six children and a long record of community service.
Secretary of State Kinney names Capt. W. O. Heebe of Wooster to the Wayne County Board of Deputy Supervisors of Elections to fill the vacancy caused by Peter C. Given's resignation. Capt. Heebe attended his first meeting with the Board on Thursday.

Hartel received 30 days and $50 fine. both promised to leave the city within 24 hours. The pair linked to a Windsor marriage in Akron followed by further arrests. May Hartel’s self harm occurred while authorities investigated their cases.
The Long Summit Telephone line is now complete and in full operation with eleven patrons and more expected. It runs from widow Felger’s farm east of Blackleyville toward Springville to Judge Kean’s car, overseen by electricians G. W. McKee and C. V. McKee.
