At yesterdays noon session in the Middlesex hotel Woodbridge Rotary Club held a question and answer day. George Merrill asked Dr I T Spencer about funds to Rahway Hospital from the township and the hospitals financial condition. Dr Spencer noted the hospital lagged last year but remained stronger than many similar institutions and that Township patients receive substantial benefits from the hospital. He added that Rahway Hospital accepts many free patients as a charitable hospital and no one is turned away. The county pays one dollar daily to assist those who cannot pay, though Middlesex County cannot bill Union County for patients from this area. Hugh Tompkins said he attended a Rotary meeting in Jacksonville Florida with over 125 attendees.
