Local and Otherwise Showers of Visitors and Travel

Local notes cover visitors from Tulsa Bainville and Blair Montana with relatives in Wolf Point and Williston. A July 7 marriage license issued to Fred White Eagle and Agnes Crazy Bull. Several families travel to Glacier Park and Stampede guests visit Wolf Point. Various trips include Oregon Minnesota and Canada with extensive family visits and summer leisure.

John MacFarlane Weds Rhea Traver in Big Timber

Two popular Big Timber youths united in marriage on Tuesday morning June 30 at ten thirty. Rhea Traver wore pale yellow chiffon with pink and white roses as Edna Traver served as maid of honor. John N. MacFarlane, a Montana county attorney and University of Montana graduate, and Miss Traver, eldest daughter of Roy O. Traver, plan to make their home in Big Timber after July 10. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. A. A. Holbeck at the groom’s rustic Boulder site, followed by a three course wedding breakfast and a later evening gathering. The bride's family and friends, including notable Traver and Neil McFarlan households, attended.

John Mann and family joined Clyde Brookman for Sunday dinner. Johan Opheim and others fished the river, catching 48 fish with one over a pound dressed. A free dance is planned at Hughes school on July 18 with cake and music. Nashua officials install a siren to replace a bell lost in a recent fire.

Southview Boosters Meet and 4-H Club Activities

Southview Boosters 4-H met June 24 at Mrs. Wanderaas home. Members planned a picnic, discussed banner making, and thanked Mrs. Anderson for thimble donations. Nine visitors attended. next meeting set for July 15 at Helen Beck’s home. Nickwall 4-H met July 1 with perfect attendance and five visitors. June 22 meeting at Nickwall schoolhouse included Miss Coleman lesson on clothing material.

Fourth at Poplar drew many from Wolf Point area

A large crowd from Wolf Point and surrounding country spent the Fourth at Poplar. Notable attendees included numerous local families and residents such as the Schenkenbergers, Cloud, Frederickson, Gordon, Mitchell, Sveen, Schmidt, and other area names. In court, Judge 5. 6, Pam and EB. 8, Koser presided on Wednesday for the regular law and motion day. Kathe Williams versus Fred Witliang, a divorce case, was heard with substantial testimony on property matters and the case taken under advisement.
