Homer Lumley and partners Rhomboid Hoagland Liferty Morehead Morehead Moreland embarked from Foxtown on April 1830 to explore a southern county cave. They navigated a waterlogged passage, reached a grand chamber with a waterfall, and uncovered vast trap rock pillars containing precious copper and native silver. After five grueling days, they escaped with specimens and plan four lead furnaces, boosting Foxtown’s fortunes.
