Emily Myrtle Osgood daughter of the late Rev Franklin R. Osgood married Mark Tory Nesmith of Winthrop at her mother's Malden home. Rev Frederick L. Cleveland officiated with a single ring ceremony. The couple left for Sunapee New Hampshire for a two week honeymoon before settling in Winthrop.

Alexander Douglas of Renfrew Scotland born a long time resident of Winthrop died Sunday September 8 after a ten day illness. He lived in East Boston before moving to Winthrop thirty years ago and spent his final years on Main Street. Rev F M White of the First Baptist Church conducted the funeral Tuesday September 10 at 2 PM. He is survived by his wife two daughters Mrs Charles Crocker of Bristol Connecticut and Miss Mary Douglas of Main Street and a son John Douglas of Waldemar Avenue.
