Death of George A. West Pioneer Horse Expert
Mr. George A. West died at a hospital on Monday September 1 after a three week battle with typhoid. Services were held at his home 123 Buchanan Street with Rev. Chas W Henry officiating and Woodlawn Cemetery interment. English Order of Odd Fellows pallbearers offered floral tributes. Born in England sixty years ago he spent years in East Boston with one company and was respected for his horsemanship. He came to the United States as a young man.

Early Wednesday morning Mr. Charles A. Grimes awoke to heavy smoke in his Shoreham Street apartment. He found a kitchen fire and escaped along the floor with valuables, but the building suffered over 1000 dollars in damage with two rear piazzas burned and back rooms ruined by fire and water.
