Skiddoo Game Draws Town Heat At Ingleside Park

The Monday ball game between past and present town officials ended in a 23 to 23 tie amid lively action. Ex officials led by Curtis Mahaney and Keenan held off the younger team with sensational plays. Afterward a War Veterans Hall supper and transport for bruised players followed, mascots Francis Mahaney and Brendan Keenan Jr. performing duties. Notables from both sides include Ex Pols Henry Hamilton George Paine and Tim Mahaney, and Present officials Laurie Woods Louis Donovan Timothy McCarthy J A Barry Harry Aiken.

Merchants Day Planned by Winthrop Board of Trade

The Winthrop Board of Trade organizes Merchants Day with posters showing townwide support. A Boston and Nahant Steamboat Co charter brings the merchants to Bass Point at 1 30 p.m. for a harbor sail and shore dinner at 6 p.m. September 10, with contests and a formal headquarters at the Brenton and a full program arranged by Franklin Flint and others.

East Boston Grade Crossing Nears Completion Bridge Ready by October

The new east Boston bridge spanning the Boston Revere Beach and Lynn Railroad is 90 feet long and 50 feet wide, 20 feet above the tracks. Construction has required regrading several streets, raising about 25 buildings, relocating utilities, and protecting a 10 foot diameter Metropolitan sewer. Final street work and site finishes remain. total cost near 350000 dollars.
