William A Whitney dies after long illness in Winthrop
William A Whitney aged about 75 died October 9 at his home 20 Pleasant street Winthrop after months of illness. He moved from Boston to Winthrop thirteen years ago and lived with his daughter. He leaves a son George Whitney and daughters Emma and Carrie all residing in Winthrop. Interment was in Northport Maine after funeral at his residence October 10 officiated by Rev W J Day. He was a longtime Baptist and Mason member.

Obituary for John Daly of Winthrop
John Daly died at Malden City Hospital last Sunday after an appendicitis operation. A high mass at the Church of St John the Evangelist featured Rev John H Griffin and Rev Richard Nagle. He lived at 41 Washington Avenue and was a member of the Elks and the church. He is survived by his wife.

Reward Offered for Vandalism at First Baptist Church
For six months stones have been hurled at the First Baptist Church on Hermon street. Sixteen holes mar the large colored plate glass window in front. The executive committee voted unanimously to offer a ten dollar reward for information leading to the conviction of anyone who broke all or part of the window. Information should be given to the chief of police.

Maid Christine O Connell Rescued From Water After Despair
About 6 30 a m cries for help were heard by Mr Hermann Kuchmeister and Mr C H Squires who ran to the water back of the house and rescued Christine O Connell a maid employed by Mrs P J Kennedy of 97 Washington avenue She had been despondent after an operation five weeks earlier and attempted suicide but screamed for help when water came over her They worked over her until the doctor arrived and she was taken to the hospital where she is recovering

Miss Ruth Kelly, in charge of girls at the vacation gardens and Playstead instructor, volunteers to conduct a girls gym class Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m. at the brick Playstead building. Parker seeks $75,000 from estate held by trust company
Clark Parker, brother and beneficiary under the will of Benjamin W. Parker, petitions the Probate Court asking New England Trust Company be ordered to pay $75,000 immediately from $89,000 accumulated income held as special administrator.
