Winthrop GOP Caucus Sees Heavy Turnout for Newton
In Winthrop Social hall on Tuesday from 3 30 to 9 20 p m a total of 944 Republicans voted with the closing time extended twice. Edward B Newton led for senator in First Suffolk District with 783 votes to William M Robinson 142. Alfred Tewksbury won the delegation for representative over Edgar H Whitney by an average of 19 votes. Delegates to Suffolk County conventions show multiple counts with Daggett Cronin Cowan Davison Simonds Orcutt and others listed.
