May Festival Dazzles Audience at Elks Hall
A May Festival by the Ladies Association of Spanish War Veterans drew a large audience in Elks hall on Wednesday. Mrs. Georgia C. Fourth of July Association Seeks Civic Help and Activities
Winthrop prepares a large Fourth of July program with committees and detailed planning. The town buzzes with enthusiasm and neighboring communities consider copying the celebration. A main feature will be children’s automobile rides with patriotic emblems, after the flag raising. Citizens with cars are urged to donate rides for children ages 5 to 8, contact Timothy J. At the May 18 board meeting the treasurer reported record quarter results with assets at $588,000 and over 14 000 shares outstanding held by more than 1 400 shareholders. The regular dividend of 5% was declared and the 30th series opened with new shares for sale.
