Death of David Floyd Shocks Winthrop Community
The sudden death of David Floyd on Monday evening saddens Winthrop residents who knew him for his town service and civic leadership. He served as town treasurer from 1885 to 1895 and was a 1888 state representative for the Winthrop Revere Chelsea district. He held roles as trustee of the Winthrop Public Library and the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association, and was vice president of the County Savings Bank of Chelsea. He also led the Suffolk Chapter of the S A R and directed the Massachusetts Real Estate Exchange.
