Winthrop High School Grants Largest Graduation Class

The 53 graduates received diplomas in Assembly Hall with prayers by Rev. W. W. Peck and music by the high school orchestra. Halstead Harden Lewis gave the Salutatory and Franklin Henry Wells the Valedictory and Class Presentation. The ceremony featured essays, a prize, and a list of graduates led by rank.

Dinner Honors Local Senator and Reps for Town Work

A Point Shirley Club dinner praised Senator Edward C. R. Bagley and Representatives Beck and Casassa for $8,000 sea wall reimbursement, dredging appropriations, bridge and dual $25,000 sea wall bills at Great Head and Grover's Cliff. Attendees urged them as next election candidates, with acts framed for town approval.

Class Day of Winthrop High Observed at School

Winthrop High School held its class day on the school lawn at 3 30 Wednesday afternoon. Clarence Pike read the class history by Florence Hughes, Darren Perille delivered the oration, Franklin Wells wrote the prophecy read by Ralph Mahoney, and class gifts arranged by Helen Elward were presented by Blanche Donohue. The program closed with the class song by Ruth Tewksbury.

Visiting Nurse Association aims to help Winthrop residents

The Visiting Nurse Association assists Winthrop residents with nurse visits at home and promotes scientific home care. Since district nurse Mrs Abbey started on April 2 she has made 100 visits averaging 10 weekly, working with four town doctors and aiding four minor operations. Not all patients pay full fees. Rose Day proceeds, to be raised June 27, will fund the association with roses sold at stations for 10 cents or more.
