Historical records show sulfur employed in medicine for more than 2000 years across cultures. Its applications included topical remedies and treatment for various ailments, reflecting long standing belief in its therapeutic properties.
Winthrop residents are invited to buy lots at Point Shirley after extensive improvement work. Over a million cubic feet of material moved, terracing, filling, and grading created streets and waterfront avenues. Hundreds of trees and shrubs planted. A Somerville circular announces Walter B. Glidden as the Republican candidate for councilor from the fourth district. Winthrop joins Ward 1 area with East Boston and other towns, affecting 7 of 250 delegates. The 1905 district reapportionment places Winthrop with the larger Cambridge and Boston wards. Local caucuses loom in three months.
In Malden a political note highlights Mr. Glidden as Somerville’s favored Republican for the governor's council. Glidden, a business leader with multiple roles, pledges to serve a full term and faces a district-wide backing effort from party leaders and allied cities.
