The Texas Education Agency with several states and federal agencies will start a civil defense study program this fall. It will be taught through public schools and junior colleges with workshops in Texas cities for teachers who will then offer free public classes. The 12 hour course covers disasters natural and man made and how to survive them. Texas is among five pilot states this year with 29 more joining next year.
