VFW Post announces a member barbecue this Saturday evening led by Post Commander RC Kurz. Veterans are invited to attend and share in the community gathering and meal at the post location.

The North Runnels Hospital employs 22 staff members including administrator James D. Shook RN and director of nurses Kathleen Black RN. The on call CRNA is on duty, and LVNs and MTASCPs fill roles in nursing, laboratory, kitchen, bookkeeping, and maintenance. Aides and on call relief nurses supplement the staff.
Johnny L. Allen, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Allen of Winters, has been promoted to army sergeant in Würzburg, Germany. He serves as a radio operator in Company C of the 3rd Infantry Division's 123rd Signal Battalion.
Hopewell Baptist Women held their regular session at the home of Mr and Mrs Sam Faubion with eight members and three children present. Mrs Allen Bishop presided. Mrs Arthur Kerby read missionaries birthdays. Mrs Faubion, program chair man, led a question and answer discussion on Rhodesia.
