Will L Porter dies at 89 in Abilene funeral set
Will L Porter died Sunday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene after several months of ill health. Funeral services were held Monday at Spill Memorial Chapel with burial in Truitt Cemetery. Porter, born March 17 1879 near Atlanta Texas, lived in Truitt Community east of Winters over 60 years. He married Lillie Bates in 1908. she died in 1959. Survived by two sons two brothers four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Paul Rodriquez 17 of Divine remained in critical condition at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene after a motorcycle pickup collision Sunday about 4 30 in Winters. He suffered head injuries and multiple fractures while riding his uncle's motorcycle. Ralph Austin of Abilene drove the pickup. DPS trooper Robert Sanders Bronte investigated. East Truitt Street Winters marked the crash scene with extensive motorcycle damage and light pickup damage. Austin was uninjured.
