Striper Program Moving Forward
Texas Parks and Wildlife steps up effort to establish striped bass in inland waters. 2200 fingerlings stocked in E. B. Spence Reservoir near San Angelo. Inland fisher ies coordinator Ted Lowman says more stocking and research planned, with swaps to increase allotment. Fingerlings eight inches long, four ounces, aim for five million fry yearly and possible hybrids. Striped bass, though saltwater by nature, spawn in freshwater and can grow large in lakes.
